the sweat of the moon

Silence is deep as Eternity; speech is shallow as time.
Thomas Carlyle

truly hotÂ
105 degreesÂ
no breeze at all
on the oaks not one leaf stirsÂ
even the squirrels just sit there
today the sun will make the moon sweat
moonrise is at 2:32 pm
i do not envy the moon its job
__________
floating alongÂ
like a white puff cloud above the worldÂ
i move through this mystery we call lifeÂ
it is a beautiful existenceÂ
and the mystery is engagingÂ
so much soÂ
that i have never bothered to solve itÂ
why seek an answerÂ
when the question is as bright as the noon sun
__________
rosesÂ
even at nightÂ
roses in starlightÂ
in moonlight
roses standing upright in the dark
come morning we will riseÂ
and love them
then we will love ourselves

It isn’t enough just to show up, accept yourself as you are, and embrace your authentic true self. Living a wholesome life requires effort.
